Boys and Girls Club

For years, Bosun’s Marine founder and owner Tim Leedham has been involved in the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, which provides a safe place on Cape Cod for young people to become responsible, caring citizens. Now, beginning this month, he is proud to join the club’s Board of Directors.

For Leedham, it’s a great way to give back to the Cape community. At the Boys and Girls Club, children and teens ranging in age from 6 to 18 learn and grow through relationships with caring adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences that foster hope and opportunity. The club provides basic decision-making and life-skills training that would otherwise be out of reach for many children.

Studies show that children in quality after-school programs, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, are 49 percent less likely to do drugs, 37 percent less likely to become teen parents, and 73 percent more likely to do better in school. The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod is located in Mashpee, between the Mashpee Fire Department and the Mashpee Police Station, opposite the Mashpee Commons. The club serves all of Cape Cod, including the towns of Bourne, Sandwich, Falmouth, Mashpee and Barnstable.
